They are professional American football team based in Oakland, California. The Raiders were formed in 1960, join the established NFL instead of the AFL in 1970. The Raiders began play in the American Football League (AFL) in 1960. From 1982 to 1994 the team relocated to Los Angeles for twelve years then they returned to Oakland in 1995.
